Interview.
What age did you start playing golf and why ?
I started playing golf at 10 years old. It started as a hobby with my parents during the outbreak, but quickly evolved into something serious in the next few years. I fell in love with golf because it provided a challenge like no other game. It’s mentally straining but rewarding at the same time. Played my first competitive event around the age of 12-13, and ever since then, I’ve been hungry to win more tournaments.
How would you say you have developed as a golfer over the past few years ?
Over the past few years, my game has developed steadily. Each season, I’ve been able to reflect on my progress and see clear improvements in both my performance and course management. I have not only gotten better at golf, but it has also shaped me into a better person with more patience and resilience. I find that golf teaches you important lessons about life and exposes the weakest parts of your personality; it’s my job to notice them and fix them.
Who is your favourite golfer and why ?
My favourite golfer is Rory McIlroy. He has inspired me since I first started playing, particularly with his swing, which I tried to replicate when I was younger. That helped me develop a strong understanding of the golf swing early on. I also admire his aggressive style of play and his ability to perform under pressure, like his win at the 2025 Masters, where he hit incredible shots in the final round to recover from mistakes.
What do you intend to study and why ?
I intend to study business, as it’s an area I feel confident in and genuinely interested in. It will give me a strong foundation for life after university, as I would like to have my own business in the future. It also provides a valuable understanding of how organisations operate, which will benefit me long-term.
Other than golf what else do you enjoy doing and why ?
Outside of golf, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, whether that’s relaxing at home or going out. I also enjoy playing table tennis, which helps with my hand-eye coordination and complements my golf.
